Food Waste Solutions For Everyone
These are my tips for how to drastically minimise your landfill waste. There are options for everyone from Share Waste schemes and bokashi bins, to building your very own compost bin and keeping chickens.

Disposable vs Reusable - 1 year of baby wipes
With an average of 1 pack per week for 1 baby (this would be more if you use wipes for messy hands and faces too) and each pack containing 60 wipes, this creates 3120 wipes in total that can only go to landfill*. Instead, I recommend using 3 packs of The Waste-Free Home reusable wipes (1 x Terry and 2 x Muslin) instead of disposable ones.
Start Small, Dream Big
If you are wanting to participate in Plastic-Free July, or just wanting to start living a lower waste life, my advice – start with something small, or a few small things, once you have mastered these things move to a few bigger swaps. You will find that if you take it in steps and add more things as your confidence grows and willingness allows you will find that it just becomes part of the way in which you live.
Scented Vinegar Spray
In a bid to reduce the amount of chemicals that enter our house I have started to use diluted vinegar as a base to many cleaning products. Due to the smell of the vinegar not being so kind on the nose, scenting it really helps and really works.
Nourishing Baby Wet Wipes
We have ditched the throw away wet wipes and now just make up a jar or container of wipes as and when we need them. Our wipes are thick and strong so the jobs that used to take up to 3-4 disposable wipes now only take 1 reusable baby wipe.
