FAQs
No, we are online only and do not have a physical store. We do however offer pickups from our packing shed in rural Cambridge.
While we do not have a physical store we do offer pickups for local customers in the Waikato area from our packing shed.
You will get an email as soon as your order is ready to pick up with the address and pick up instructions. If you do not receive this email within 48 hours please check your junk/spam folder.
We offer a signup discount code when customers sign up to receive our marketing emails. You will be emailed a code to enter at check out, please check your spam if it doesn’t come through shortly. This code does not automatically apply at checkout and can only be issued once against each customer's account. It’s not redeemable on sale items or with any other promotion.
Wherever possible your items should be kept clean and dry. Every item has care instructions listed on our product page. But if you are unsure how to care for a specific item, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help hello@thewastefreehome.co.nz

The Waste-Free Home offers payment plans through third-party application Afterpay.
PRE ORDERS
We offer Pre-Order purchasing for select styles that have sold out, but are soon to be replenished. Pre-Ordering is the best way to ensure you do not miss out on popular products once they are back in stock.
Any online orders containing a product purchased on Pre-Order will be processed in full once we have received the required inventory for fulfilment. We do not offer split shipments for online orders containing Pre-Ordered products.
Pre-Orders are processed and dispatched from the approximate date specified upon the relevant product page.

In the event of a large delay in receiving the required inventory, this will be communicated to all Pre-Order customers, including an estimate of the updated date of dispatch.
ORDERS
Yes, you can! As long as your order hasn’t already been packed and shipped, just send us an email and we will be happy to help you sort it out.
Some of our products are quite large and expensive to make so we make them to order. Once you have placed your order, we let our artisan friends know to make up your specific item.
We aim for between 1-4 weeks. But as we use local craftspeople, it depends on how busy the workshops are and how quickly we can get supplies. If you need your item ASAP please get in touch before purchase and we will see what we can do to expedite the process for you. hello@thewastefreehome.co.nz
SHIPPING
We do our best to process all orders as quickly as possible, with all orders being process and shipped within 2-3 business days. However, please allow for additional processing time during periods with high order volumes and around public & school holidays. As a family run business with young families, we can’t always get away to pack orders!
Please refer to our Shipping page We understand shipping rates are high and we do everything we can do reduce our shipping costs so you can benefit from lower rates.
Top Tip: For Free NZ Urban Shipping spend over $200 and free shipping to be applied to your entire order.
We try to process everything within 2-3 business days. Shipping can then take 1-2* nights to arrive depending on where you live: North Island Urban targets next day delivery and rural an additional day. South Island Urban targets 2 day with an additional day for rural.
*Our delivery timeframes are estimates only, and may vary with public holidays, weather elements, congestion in the carrier network, and other influences outside of The Waste-Free Home’s control.

Yes! You are welcome to pick up from our home studio. We are based in Rural Cambridge in the North Island. Please note that our studio is part of our family home as we are an online only business.

We can ship to Australia but shipping can get quite expensive. Please refer to our shipping page for Australian shipping rates.
We ship your orders direct from The Waste-free Home HQ in our back garden. But some made to order items are shipped directly from our New Zealand based artisans workshops. This is to minimize the journey your items have to go on!
GIFT CARDS
We certainly do! If you have a specific amount you would like to purchase please let us know.
Gift cards are currently delivered digitally and contain instructions on how to redeem them at checkout. They have no additional processing fees.
We are happy to post you a printed gift card if you would prefer. We will just need to charge for printing, packaging and shipping. Get in touch with and we’ll be happy to help. hello@thewastefreehome.co.nz
RETURNS & REFUNDS
Yes, we do. We are happy to offer you a full refund on the purchase price of the goods, as long as your items is returned to us in a re-sellable condition. Please refer to our Returns page
Yes, we do. We will gladly exchange your item for something else, as long as your items is returned to us in a re-sellable condition. Additional product and shipping costs may apply. Please refer to our Refunds page
Yes, we do. We work very hard to make sure every item leaves us in good condition, but we are happy to offer a full refund on the purchase price of any faulty goods. Please return the item so we can adapt our quality control if necessary. Please refer to our Refunds page for more info.
