Sourced directly from the pottery in Marrakech these rustic terracotta tagines are the real thing and will cook beautifully over an open fire, barbecue or on a gas or electric hob (Note: the base may not be smooth so check before using on a ceramic or glass hob) - not suitable for induction.
The Tagine (base & lid) is designed to be used over direct heat rather then the oven. The word Tagine refers to the conical lid and also the dishes cooked inside, its beauty lies in the lid which traps moisture during cooking and creates food that is succulent.
The Cazuela (base) can be used as a baker or roasting dish in the oven (without the lid).
Due to the organic nature of the terracotta, cooking in the cazuela adds wonderful flavour to your food.
