Made in Aotearoa from reclaimed rimu, these magnetic knife racks bring warmth and function to any kitchen. Strong magnets are set into the timber, with a concealed mounting system on the back for a clean, floating look.
Mounting screws and instructions are included, so your rack is ready to hang out of the box.
The magnets sit at set points along the rack rather than in one continuous strip, and this is deliberate. Each knife sits on its own magnet, spaced approximately 45mm apart, which keeps blades separated instead of overlapping. This protects your knife edges from knocking together and going blunt, and it stops the rack being overloaded. Magnet counts for each size are listed in the tabs below.
Made from reclaimed wood, your rack is a natural timber product and may need a little care over time. An occasional oil keeps the finish looking its best. Full care instructions are in the tabs below.
Every rack is handcrafted from reclaimed wood, so each one is unique and carries the marks of a past life. Slight blemishes or the occasional nail hole are part of the character, not a fault.

We bought 2 x 30cm long rimu magnetic knife racks - to mount one above the other in our cramped kitchen and they are perfect. I was delighted to get rid of the ugly knife block that took up bench space.

Installed 2 horizontally with 60mm space between so that big knives are held properly. Works great like that. Shelf above i made using reclaimed wood and iron moa fittings

The knife rack is beautifully made and looks wonderful.
Unfortunately the magnets are not right across the rack so it only fits a certain number of widely spaced knives. The gaps between the knives have no magnetism.

Disappointing for the price. But whats done is done. Magnets arent very strong and knives need to be perfectly centred to hang straight.

Looks good, solid construction, easy to install - all as expected at a premium price. The finish deteriorated a bit but would be easy to sand back and restore so I don’t mind terribly.

This is a beautiful artisan product and I love it, apart from one problem. My chef knife (perhaps it’s unusually heavy?) isn’t held securely and slips downward. I have solved that problem by putting it on the rack with the blade pointing down so that the handle stops it sliding.
