Made from locally salvaged wood, which would otherwise become waste and go to landfill, these spurtles have been given a new life. Originally used in Scotland for whisking porridge, the spurtle has turned into a hybrid tool. Perfect also for muddling and compressing preserves like Sauerkraut. We love to use ours when mixing thicker baking mixes like biscuits or bread.

Crafted by hand, each carefully selected piece of timber is cut to size, lathed into shape, sanded by hand and then polished with Duzz All Bees Wax. Simply oil regularly and these beautiful spurtles will live on for many generations to come. 

Every spurtle has been handcrafted so each is unique. Measurements are all approximate and may differ slightly.

All PETE & CO products are made in Aotearoa from reclaimed wood. We want you to enjoy your item for many years to come so please follow our care instructions.

  • Do not soak.
  • Do not put in the dishwasher.
  • Wash by hand if needed or simply wipe with a damp cloth. 
  • To condition use Duzz-All bees wax or Pure Tung Oil from The Natural Paint Co. 
  • If cuts and scratches occur gently sand back and re polish again.
