A return to what our skin truly needs, nourishing and healing ingredients. What makes tallow effective is its similarity to the sebum naturally produced by our skin. This means it absorbs easily without clogging pores, helping to lock in moisture and support the skin barrier.

Crafted in small batches on our property, this rich balm blends nutrient-dense tallow with NZ grown spray-free cold-pressed hemp seed oil. 

We also now have the choice of no lavender oil, just pure tallow and hemp. If you’re sensitive to lavender or prefer fragrance-free skincare, this one’s for you. It still has a gentle, natural scent. Just click no lavender below.

The tallow is infused with homegrown kawakawa and calendula and a touch of lavender essential oil adds a subtle scent that softens the natural aroma of tallow and brings a calming finish.

Every ingredient is chosen for its ability to soothe, restore, and deeply moisturise making it a powerful remedy for dry, sensitive, or hardworking skin.

Tallow is rich in fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K which are all vital for healthy skin function and repair. Tallow also contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which can be helpful for conditions like eczema, dryness, and irritation. Kawakawa and calendula are infused as they calm irritation and support healing.

We blend in cold-pressed hemp seed oil not only for its essential fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6, which help calm inflammation and deeply nourish the skin, but also because it gives the balm its beautifully whipped, soft texture. Without it, the tallow would be much firmer, but together they create a creamy, spreadable balm your skin will love.

Care Instructions

To keep your whipped tallow balm in top condition, store it in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Because it’s made with natural ingredients and no stabilisers, it may soften in warm weather or harden slightly when cold - this is totally normal. If it melts, just give it a stir and pop it in the fridge to firm up again. Always use clean, dry hands to avoid introducing moisture.

Baking soda content is helpful

With the baking soda content helps to also keep the washing machine cleaner than the sludgy 'normal' powders.
Would like the lavender to be stronger though in the dry laundry PLEASE!
